Why Philemon 1:7

“For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because
the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.”
Philemon 1:7 NKJV

There is a lot we can say about this particular verse and it’s surrounding verses. But we can save that for our upcoming book Finding Philemon.  However, it is important for you, our visitor, to know why we chose this particular verse.
Our purpose in creating this website is to help Pastors and Ministers of the Priesthood of all Believers have a place they can go to to find encouragement when going through the rough patches of serving in ministry.  If experience has taught us anything, it is that Ministry is can be very rewarding, but it can also very hard on those involved, serving on the front lines.  For us, having a place to go to when we needed guidance or encouragement would have gone a long way to helping us get through our rough patches. Just like you we have faced a lot of crazy things and so have others.  All of us are at different places in life and can find encouragement through each other.  Having this website in place, is our way of opening the door for this to happen, so to speak.

I digress though, back to the reason this page exists, why Philemon 1v7.  The reason is found in its content. This simple verse changed our entire way of thinking when it comes to ministry.  It reminded us of something God has been trying to show his children from the beginning, He loves us, each of us. With this reminder in mind, we want you to know that God has great Joy for you Brother or Sister, and he wants to refresh your heart.  We want you to find comfort in the fact that God loves you regardless of what you are facing in this present moment.  We want you to find a renewed faith in your walk with the Lord and to know that someone out there really does care about your well being, we want you to know that someone out there does really appreciate your willingness to serve and bring God the glory in your life.

There are always going to be times when you feel lost, hurt, broken, tired, lonely or abused in your calling to serve in such a way as you do. Remember though that this life is only prelude to the rewards waiting for you, The Saint, in heaven.

Blessings in Christ,

Matt and Traci
